Delayed Hotline works with Intercept Handling to give users the ability to call a particular destination without dialing. They just pick up the phone and wait for five seconds. The user is then automatically connected to an extension, console, or other intercept handler. During the delay, users can still dial other destinations as permitted by the Class of Service and other restrictions assigned to the phone.
You can program up to 32 unique Intercept Handling numbers, and thus have up to 32 unique answer points for each Delayed Hotline.
Set the following timers to the values indicated in the Delayed Hotline device's Class of Service:
Dialing Conflict Timer : 2 seconds
First Digit Timer: minimum 5 seconds
Inter-Digit Timer: minimum 3 seconds.

Program an Unassigned Directory Number answer point for the Hotline. This is the destination called when the First Digit timer or Inter-Digit timer expires.

Go off-hook, wait for the First Digit Timer to expire.
Go off-hook, enter one digit, wait for Inter-Digit Timer to expire.
Go off-hook, enter an invalid phone number.
NOTE: While off-hook, the user hears dial tone for the duration of the digit timers.
